HVUT

If you have a vehicle that weighs 55,000 pounds or more and travels over 5,000 miles a year, you’ll need to pay the Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT). This tax is due August 31, 2020, along with your Form 2290. The IRS will calculate how much you owe them based on your vehicle’s taxable gross weight and you can pay it using several different methods.

This is a certificate that shows that your vehicle is legal and IRS compliant. You can download and print it out or we can mail you a copy to keep in the cab of your vehicle.

HVUT Form 2290 Penalties

Meeting the IRS Form 2290 deadline and paying the HVUT on time is the best way to protect your business from heavy fines and IRS penalties. The IRS penalizes heavy vehicle owners for late filing, late payments, and missing, fraudulent, or accidentally incorrect information.
